Project Engineer – Ontario Plants

About the role

Sika Canada is seeking a Project Engineer to lead major projects across its Ontario manufacturing sites and support other Canadian locations. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, Central Region, you will work closely with the National Director of Engineering to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and commissioning strategies.
• Assess and manage risks, allocate resources, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead execution of construction, equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, and project close‑out.
• Maintain relationships with plant operations, R&D, procurement, external contractors, consultants, regulatory bodies, and municipalities.
• Prepare and present project status reports to management and stakeholders.
• Oversee technical procedures and control programming for training when required.
• Resolve technical issues during design, engineering, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Ensure compliance with Sika Canada’s health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
• Strong design, planning, organization, and communication abilities.
• Hands‑on problem‑solver with critical thinking and sound judgment.
• High sense of ownership and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance codes such as OHSA, building, electrical, and environmental regulations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OHSA regulations.
• Understanding of building code requirements.
• Familiarity with electrical code standards.
• Awareness of environmental regulation compliance.
