Project Designer

About the role

The Project Designer will create and maintain detailed 3D models, drawings and technical documentation for power generation projects, supporting utilities, IPPs, industrial facilities and mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and revise 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD software, including equipment layouts and assemblies.
• Translate engineering sketches, specifications and customer requirements into accurate technical drawings.
• Prepare and maintain bills of materials, drawing lists and fabrication/ construction packages.
• Apply company drafting standards, ASME Y14 requirements and ensure version control and traceability.
• Participate in design reviews, identify conflicts and work with the project team to develop practical solutions.

Required profile

• College diploma in mechanical engineering design, drafting technology or related field.
• 2‑5 years of professional CAD drafting or equipment design experience in a fast‑paced engineering environment.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment and ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency in a major CAD platform (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of technical drawing practices, dimensioning, tolerancing and GD&T.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14 drafting standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and specifications.
