Mechanical Engineer – Power Generation Projects

About the role

Enerflex is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical scope and design for power generation projects. You will develop and review system designs, specifications, calculations and technical deliverables while ensuring compliance with codes and project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer requirements, technical specifications and project scope for electric power projects.
• Develop piping, insulation and mechanical specifications, layouts, P&IDs, process flow diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
• Review and approve piping isometrics, 2D/3D designs and fabrication drawings extracted from 3D models.
• Prepare mechanical scopes of work, specifications, requisitions and Bills of Materials for equipment suppliers and contractors.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection and sizing for pumps, heat‑transfer equipment and balance‑of‑plant components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and current P.Eng. registration in a Canadian province.
• 5‑7 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in power generation or packaged equipment projects.
• Knowledge of natural‑gas engine‑generator systems and related mechanical systems is an asset.
• Experience with CSA and ASME codes and standards.

Required skills

• Mechanical design and equipment selection
• P&ID design and mechanical layout development
• CADWorx, AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (preferred)
• Review of piping isometrics, general arrangements and process flow diagrams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering calculation software
