About the role
The Manitoba Employment Essentials and Training (MEET) team is looking for a Programs Assistant to support day‑to‑day operations for a 12‑month term. The role combines office administration, travel coordination, and learner data management to ensure a smooth, welcoming environment for staff, learners and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Greet visitors, staff and service providers professionally and manage front‑desk communications.
- Coordinate travel arrangements (hotels, flights, car rentals) for staff across the province.
- Order and track office supplies, maintain equipment (printers, postage machine) and report any issues.
- Prepare training rooms, refreshments and ensure all materials are ready for sessions.
- Handle mail, courier services and printing requests for all regions.
- Update learner information in the database and manage promotional inventory.
- Maintain the door access system and perform daily dishwasher duties.
- Perform other ad‑hoc administrative tasks as assigned.
Required profile
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of relevant administrative or office support experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet competing deadlines.
- Attention to detail, confidentiality and adherence to process guides.
- Self‑motivated, adaptable and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required skills
- Proficiency with standard office software and equipment (e.g., Microsoft Office, printers, fax machines).
