Program Officer – Labour Mobility (Remote, Atlantic Canada)

About the role

WUSC is seeking a Program Officer to lead its Labour Mobility portfolio in Atlantic Canada. Working remotely from Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island, you will support displaced youth and refugees as they transition into the Canadian labour market, helping communities welcome new talent.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct assistance to labour‑mobility candidates, guiding them through recruitment, immigration, credential assessment and settlement processes.
• Coordinate with Atlantic Canadian employers, government agencies and community partners to create welcoming pathways for newcomers.
• Monitor program implementation, collect data and prepare reports for the Manager, Labour Mobility.
• Contribute to the scaling of existing pilots such as HIRES, EMPP and Train‑to‑Hire, ensuring alignment with WUSC’s strategic objectives.
• Facilitate communication between refugees, employers and regulatory bodies to address skill‑matching and licensing challenges.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in settlement, integration or newcomer employment initiatives in Atlantic Canada.
• Strong understanding of Canadian immigration and credential recognition processes.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
