Program Instructor – Cooking (Part‑time, Temporary)

About the role

The City of Belleville is seeking a friendly and energetic Program Instructor to lead cooking activities for children at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre. This part‑time, temporary position offers 1‑10 hours per week across daytime, evening, and weekend shifts, providing a supportive environment for youth to learn culinary skills.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise participants, ensuring safety and adherence to department policies.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate cooking sessions and related activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of equipment, supplies, and facilities.
• Complete and submit required administrative forms such as lesson plans and injury reports promptly.
• Attend mandatory staff training sessions and scheduled meetings.

Required profile

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR ‘C’ certification.
• High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development certification.
• Current Safe Food Handling certification.
• Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
• Post‑secondary education in a child/youth‑related field (preferred).
• Coaching or instructing certification such as the National Coaching Certificate (preferred).
