Kindergarten Teacher – Early Childhood Support

About the role

We are seeking a Kindergarten Teacher to support classroom instruction and ensure a safe, nurturing environment for young learners at Rowntree Montessori School. The role involves assisting the lead teacher with daily lesson plans, activities, and the overall wellbeing of children.

Key responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction by helping implement daily lesson plans, learning activities, and educational games aligned with the preschool curriculum.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and outdoor play to ensure safety and promote positive behavior.
• Assist with behavior management by reinforcing classroom rules and guiding social and emotional skill development.
• Prepare and organize learning materials, resources, and displays to support hands‑on learning and creativity.
• Maintain a clean and hazard‑free environment, including sanitizing toys, surfaces, and equipment.
• Provide individualized support through one‑on‑one or small‑group assistance for children needing extra help.
• Observe children’s development and communicate concerns or progress to the lead teacher.
• Help children with daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals, and rest time.
• Model respectful, inclusive behavior to foster a positive classroom culture.
• Collaborate closely with the lead teacher and other staff to ensure consistency in teaching practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree Lic. Educación Preescolar or equivalent (required).
• Prior experience working with young children in an educational or care setting (preferred).
• Completion of a TKT Training Course.
• Commitment to ISP safeguarding, diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
