About the role
The University of British Columbia is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Centre for Accessibility within Student Services. This full‑time position provides front‑desk reception and administrative assistance, ensuring smooth delivery of accommodation services for students with disabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage front‑desk operations, including greeting visitors, handling phone inquiries, and scheduling appointments.
- Enter and maintain confidential student data, process referrals, and coordinate Early Alert notifications.
- Provide administrative support to Accessibility Advisors, including correspondence, file management, and project tracking.
- Organise meetings, order supplies, and assist with exam accommodations, alternate‑format production, and Canada Study Grant funding.
- Supervise student staff and liaise with other UBC units serving students.
Required profile
- Strong judgment and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with sensitivity to distressed students.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure using analytical and situational methods.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
