Production Support Engineer

About the role

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Production Support Engineer to ensure the continuous availability and performance of its IBM i (AS400/iSeries) billing platform. You will work within a 24x7 environment, collaborating with network, application, and development teams to resolve incidents and improve production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain availability of AS400 applications within defined SLA.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests promptly.
• Coordinate with network, architects, developers and other IT teams to sustain high‑performance end‑to‑end solutions.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical issues and business‑hours support for all other requests.
• Initiate and implement changes to close operational gaps.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for incidents and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Communicate with vendors and liaise with internal IT teams.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify and implement improvements.

Required profile

• Strong experience with IBM i (AS400/iSeries) billing platforms.
• Hands‑on expertise in troubleshooting, batch job processing, and job queue management.
• Ability to perform data fixes, file maintenance, and system‑level debugging.
• Experience working in a 24x7 production support environment.
• Effective communication skills for vendor and cross‑team collaboration.
