Production Supervisor – Night Shift

About the role

ABB is hiring a production supervisor for its night shift at its Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu manufacturing site, within the Electrification, Installation Products division of ABB Canada. The supervisor reports to the production area manager and follows up on production needs in a unionized environment that encourages participatory management. The work is 100% on-site at the plant, on the night shift from Sunday 11:40 p.m. to Friday 7:40 a.m.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a production team of about 25 unionized employees.
• Check equipment, materials and personnel availability and identify production priorities.
• Act as the health and safety lead for the team.
• Identify improvement opportunities and manage improvement plans for the area.
• Train, evaluate and coach employees toward their competency level, and identify training needs.
• Take part in production planning, team meetings, shift handover meetings and other meetings.

Required profile

• At least 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience (unionized manufacturing preferred).
• Leadership and influence over the team.
• Ability to handle emergencies and make quick decisions.
• Ability to manage change and work in a team.
