Product Owner, Flight Ops

About the role

WestJet is looking for a Product Owner to lead the roadmap and development of its Flight Operations suite. You will shape the tools that deliver flight plans, navigation data, pilot logs, seat maps and guest manifests to flight crews, ensuring they stay modern, reliable and aligned with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain the product roadmap and strategy for flight‑operations applications.
• Prioritise and manage the product backlog in collaboration with business stakeholders and the development team.
• Define, organise and track tasks for each product iteration.
• Research and recommend new features based on business objectives.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including 3rd‑party vendors.
• Inspect and evaluate product progress each sprint and report findings.
• Communicate updates and status to all stakeholders.
• Negotiate contracts and oversee partner performance against KPIs.
• Collaborate with IT to identify automation and continuous‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in aviation or mission‑critical operations.
• Strong ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working with cross‑functional development teams.
