Product Development Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Product Development Engineer who is passionate about materials, product performance, and technical innovation. You will join the Product Development team to help create the next generation of safety, occupational, outdoor, and cold‑weather footwear.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage testing plans for footwear, components, and materials.
• Coordinate internal and third‑party laboratory testing programs and analyse results.
• Maintain testing databases, reports and technical documentation.
• Lead certification activities, manage relationships with certification bodies and ensure compliance with CSA, ASTM, ISO 20345/20347 and other standards.
• Design and run field wear‑testing programs, collect user feedback and translate insights into product improvements.
• Support fit evaluations and user trials throughout the development cycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, Product Development or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in footwear, PPE, outdoor products, sporting goods or consumer product development.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and data‑interpretation abilities.
• Excellent organisational and project‑management capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
