Product Design Engineer

About the role

OFGO STUDIO is seeking a Product Design Engineer to turn innovative concepts into market‑ready workplace solutions. You will guide products from initial idea through detailed design, prototyping, and production while ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine product designs for upholstered items, sheet metal, tubular steel, laminate/melamine wood, and related materials.
• Use SolidWorks and Microsoft Excel to create efficient design documentation and cost breakdowns.
• Generate bills of material and costing analyses within SolidWorks.
• Prototype concepts with 3D printers and advanced manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting functionality issues.
• Ensure designs comply with ANSI‑BIFMA industry standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers on development initiatives.
• Support marketing with technical drawings and images for product launches.
• Manage timelines and resources to meet division goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience in product development, preferably in furniture manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of metals, wood, laminates, and plastics.
• Familiarity with manufacturing methods such as CNC, fabrication, and assembly.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
