Produce Department Manager

About the role

Freson Bros. is seeking a motivated Produce Department Manager to lead its produce team at the Fort Saskatchewan location. You will be responsible for merchandising, inventory, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the produce team in creating weekly, promotional, and seasonal displays.
• Manage inventory through ordering, record keeping, invoicing, and quarterly counts.
• Schedule team members to meet production and customer needs.
• Ensure company standards and department programs are followed.
• Assist the Store Manager with recruiting and maintain a high‑performance team.
• Train, develop, and motivate produce department staff.
• Resolve customer and department concerns, providing a positive experience.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work area.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years progressive experience in produce, grocery, or retail management.
• Proven track record of meeting financial objectives in a produce or grocery environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, critical‑thinking, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Ability to work peak retail hours, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Suite.
