Procurement Co-op (Water & Wastewater Projects)

About the role

Veolia's Water Technology Business is looking for a Procurement Co-op student in Oakville. The Procurement Agent sources, evaluates and procures materials, equipment and services for water and wastewater treatment system projects, working with a cross-functional team on strategic purchasing decisions. The co-op is full-time, lasting 16 months starting September 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and qualify suppliers and vendors for project materials and equipment such as pumps, blowers, valves, tanks, instrumentation and fabrication services
• Prepare and issue requests for quotations (RFQs) and analyse bids for competitive pricing and value
• Negotiate contracts and purchase agreements, and create and manage purchase orders with accurate specifications, quantities, pricing and delivery schedules
• Monitor supplier performance using vendor scorecards based on quality, delivery and service
• Work with Engineers, Project Managers and Quality Assurance teams so procurement specs match project needs
• Track inventory levels and resolve issues such as expediting deliveries, backorders and quality concerns
• Work with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Commissioning teams and keep procurement records for audit and compliance

Required profile

• Rising junior or senior student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain or Procurement
• Excellent written and verbal organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team
• Attention to detail and ability to manage several priorities at once
• Must be immediately eligible to work in Canada; no work-permit sponsorship offered

Required skills

• Preferred: ability to analyse data and create reports using Google Suite applications
