Primary School Teacher – Urban Public School

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary School Teacher to join our urban public school network. The successful candidate will foster a supportive learning environment, address individual student needs, and collaborate with staff and families to promote academic and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Attend educational conferences and workshops to stay current with best practices.
• Discuss student progress with parents, students, and school officials.
• Evaluate and document student performance through assessments and reports.
• Participate in staff meetings, teacher training, and professional development sessions.
• Supervise teaching assistants and mentor student teachers.
• Assign, review, and correct homework and classroom assignments.
• Develop and adapt curriculum content to meet diverse learning needs.
• Identify individual learning needs and implement remedial programs.
• Lead activities that support physical, mental, and social development.
• Prepare lesson materials, administer tests, and use audio‑visual tools and field trips to enhance instruction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Provincial or territorial teaching certificate.
• Clear criminal record check.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Dependable, organized, and an effective team player.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
