Primary Care Physician

About the role

Calian is seeking a Family Physician to join the medical clinic at CFB Gagetown. The role involves delivering comprehensive primary health care to Canadian Armed Forces members, including preventive, diagnostic, and rehabilitative services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical fitness assessments for duty, including pre‑ and post‑deployment, periodic health assessments, recruiting medicals, and hazardous‑occupation evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat occupational and environmental injuries and illnesses, and provide rehabilitation support.
• Establish and manage Medical Employment Limitations, approve sick leave, and recommend changes in medical category.
• Maintain occupational health records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Provide comprehensive primary care for acute and chronic conditions and refer patients to specialists when needed.

Required profile

• Provincial medical licence in the province of practice.
• Certification in Family Medicine (CCFP) from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
• Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C certification.
• Minimum one year of full‑time equivalent experience in ambulatory primary care, occupational medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine. New graduates may be considered.

Required skills
