President and Vice-Chancellor (University Executive)

About the role

The President and Vice‑Chancellor serves as the chief executive officer of Victoria University, providing strategic leadership to advance the university’s mission, academic excellence, financial sustainability and student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the university’s academic and administrative communities, reporting to the Board of Regents and ensuring effective, innovative operations.
• Act as the chief ambassador and advancement leader, cultivating relationships with alumni, donors, governments and external partners.
• Collaborate closely with the University of Toronto and the Toronto School of Theology to strengthen joint initiatives and opportunities for the VicU community.
• Champion inclusion, equity, diversity, accessibility, reconciliation and belonging across all university activities.

Required profile

• Experienced senior administrator and credible scholar with a proven track record of promoting academic excellence.
• Strong business mindset and leadership skills to advance financial sustainability and institutional priorities.
• Open, collegial leadership style with exceptional interpersonal abilities to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
• Commitment to the student experience and to fostering a culture of trust, respect and community participation.
