Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Quantitative Epidemiology

About the role
The Stringhini Laboratory at the University of British Columbia seeks a full‑time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead quantitative analyses on an ageing research program. This one‑year renewable appointment combines life‑course epidemiology, causal inference, and artificial intelligence to uncover biological pathways linking social exposures to healthy and unhealthy ageing.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute statistical analyses of multi‑cohort data on socioeconomic conditions and biomarkers of ageing.
- Develop and apply causal inference frameworks, including directed acyclic graphs, g‑computation, and instrumental variable methods.
- Conduct mediation analyses and advanced longitudinal modelling such as mixed‑effects and growth‑curve models.
- Collaborate with the principal investigator, students, and staff to advance methodological innovation.
- Prepare scientific manuscripts, reports, and presentations for peer‑reviewed journals and conferences.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong quantitative skills with a proven track record in statistical modelling and causal inference.
- Attention to detail and ability to work autonomously in a collaborative environment.
