Plant Manager - Plastics Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Plant Manager to lead a fast‑moving plastics manufacturing operation in Oakville. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership to drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily plant operations, ensuring production targets and customer commitments are consistently met.
• Optimize labour planning, equipment utilization, and waste reduction to create smarter, faster workflows.
• Maintain relentless focus on product quality, on‑time delivery, and cost‑effective manufacturing.
• Make KPI‑driven decisions and implement proactive corrective actions to keep performance at its peak.
• Foster a safety‑first environment with embedded compliance, training, and accountability.
• Build and develop a high‑performing team through hiring, coaching, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee budgeting, inventory management, and supply‑chain coordination to support operational goals.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on forecasting, long‑range planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of plant or operations management experience in manufacturing.
• Experience working in a unionized environment.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and elevate teams in fast‑paced settings.
• Strong command of production planning, cost control, and quality assurance.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and safety regulations.
• Strategic thinker with hands‑on leadership style and drive for operational excellence.
