Planning Systems and Solutions Manager

About the role

The Planning Systems & Solutions Manager provides strategic and technical leadership for UBC's budgeting and financial planning platforms. This senior position ensures that systems such as Adaptive Planning, Workday and Calumo are reliable, user‑friendly, and aligned with institutional data standards to support efficient planning and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, govern and continuously enhance Adaptive Planning, Calumo and related budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling applications.
• Act as the primary liaison between central finance, decentralized units, IT, Business Intelligence and Financial Operations.
• Drive scenario functionality, automation, data integration and overall system usability.
• Support UBC’s financial planning modernization agenda by guiding system improvements that strengthen decision‑support capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with finance leaders, the Business Intelligence team and administrative portfolios to align system enhancements with governance standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading financial planning or budgeting systems in a complex organization.
• Strong understanding of institutional finance processes and data governance.
• Ability to translate technical solutions into business value for finance stakeholders.
