Physician Member – Out‑of‑Country Health Services Committee

About the role

The Alberta Public Service Commission seeks qualified physicians to serve as members of the Out‑of‑Country Health Services Committee. Members will evaluate applications for funding of health services provided outside Canada and make informed decisions on expense reimbursements.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess applications for out‑of‑country health service funding.
• Make funding decisions based on established criteria and policies.
• Provide expert medical judgment to ensure appropriate use of public funds.
• Participate in committee meetings and contribute to policy recommendations.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all evaluations.

Required profile

• Medical degree and active physician licensure in Canada.
• Experience in clinical practice, preferably with exposure to international health services.
• Strong analytical abilities and sound decision‑making skills.
• Commitment to public service and ability to work collaboratively with other committee members.
