Pharmacy Assistant (Entry Level, Training Provided)

About the role

CareRx is seeking an entry‑level Pharmacy Assistant to support medication preparation, packaging and delivery for long‑term care and retirement communities. Training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for candidates new to the pharmacy field.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately record prescription information received from nursing staff using dispensary software.
• Prepare medications for compliance packaging and manage workflow to meet processing timelines.
• Operate the PacMed automated dispensing machine and assist with inventory management.
• Handle returns and expired products, including unpacking, sorting and proper disposal.
• Prepare creams and liquids and generate daily/weekly production reports.
• Maintain stock levels, reorder medications, and ensure proper documentation and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or completion of an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness to learn on the job; training will be provided.
• Familiarity with KROLL and/or PacMed systems is a plus.
