Pharmacy Assistant & Customer Service Representative

About the role

Royal Drugs is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant who will also serve as a Customer Service Representative. Working closely with pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians, you will help process orders, answer inquiries, and ensure timely, accurate delivery of specialty medications.

Key responsibilities

• Answer pharmacy and product‑related telephone inquiries, escalating to pharmacists when needed.
• Receive and sign out narcotic drugs in partnership with pharmacists.
• Schedule production of all IV medications and program CADD pumps.
• Set up patient payment options and process private‑pay credit‑card transactions.
• Monitor EDI and fax channels for incoming orders and ensure correct payor information.
• Prioritize orders based on urgency, delivery distance, and component complexity.
• Track order status in Monarch/Pronto and intervene to prevent late deliveries.
• Coordinate with warehouse, shipping, and clean‑room teams to expedite high‑priority shipments.
• Perform ODB drug billing, claim resubmission, and reconciliation for timely reimbursement.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and maintain required health‑and‑safety training.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year of full‑time experience in a pharmacy environment.
• Familiarity with IV medication preparation and medical‑supply components is an asset.
• Experience with Kroll data entry is a strong asset.
