Project Manager – Continuous Improvement (Public Health Services)

About the role

The City of Hamilton is seeking a Project Manager to lead continuous improvement initiatives within its Public Health Services. Reporting to the Manager of Vaccine Records and Inventory, the role focuses on implementing strategic projects that enhance program quality and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and risk are managed effectively.
• Develop project charters, define deliverables, secure funding, and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Conduct business process reviews, re‑engineer workflows, and implement supporting software solutions.
• Prepare presentations and reports for senior management, the Board of Health, and external funders.
• Negotiate with vendors, manage contracts, and oversee project budgets in line with corporate policies.

Required profile

• Degree in business, public administration, or related field combined with project management experience.
• Demonstrated competence in project management, process improvement, fiscal management, and performance measurement.
• Knowledge of public health environments and experience in a unionized setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities.
• Leadership experience with negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills.
