Pharmacist – Float Oncology

About the role
The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a Float Oncology Pharmacist to join its multidisciplinary team. The position involves 8‑hour shifts covering days, nights and weekends, providing comprehensive drug therapy support across oncology units.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver clinical pharmacy services to oncology patients in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
- Supervise, coach and mentor pharmacy staff and students.
- Participate in teaching activities and contribute to continuous education programs.
- Maintain accurate medication records using hospital database systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health professionals to optimise drug therapy.
Required profile
- Baccalaureate of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized university or equivalent training/experience.
- Unrestricted Part A license registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
- Working knowledge of modern hospital care and drug therapy.
- In‑depth understanding of drug composition and clinical effects.
- Ability to supervise, lead, coach and mentor colleagues.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word (word processing).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (spreadsheet).
- Experience using database applications for medication management.
