About the role
Join a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store and provide essential health, beauty, and convenience services to your community. As the on‑duty pharmacist you will ensure safe dispensing, offer professional consultations, and support the overall operation of the pharmacy.
Key responsibilities
- Provide prescription counseling, over‑the‑counter advice, and professional services within your scope of practice.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality standards for all customers and health‑care partners.
- Manage daily workflow queues, monitor ‘will call’ bins, and ensure accurate dispensing of medications.
- Oversee inventory, identify expired stock, and coordinate medication orders with wholesalers.
- Comply with Controlled Drugs and Substances Act reporting requirements and Health Canada regulations.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming pharmacy environment and handle incident reporting when needed.
- Support financial reporting, store communications, and health‑and‑safety procedures.
Required profile
- Strong independent decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience planning, coordinating, and coaching pharmacy staff.
- Proven business‑driving mindset with a focus on exceptional customer service.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
Required skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing software and related computer systems.
