Personal Support Worker – Nursing Care

About the role

Embassy West Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Personal Support Worker to provide nursing‑care assistance to residents in Ottawa. You will help maintain patient comfort, safety, and well‑being while supporting daily activities and clinical tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Accompany residents on outdoor recreational activities and supervise exercise routines.
• Assist with cleaning, sterilising, setting up, and maintaining medical equipment.
• Measure vital signs, administer first aid, suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas.
• Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
• Transport residents between rooms, care facilities, and within the building using wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilising operative areas.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, deliver messages and specimens, and keep patient rooms tidy.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar personal support or healthcare role.
• Ability to lift, turn, and position patients safely.
• Willingness to work overtime and participate in youth‑support programs.
