Permanent Full-Time Designated Early Childhood Educator

About the role

The Designated Early Childhood Educator will work under the Principal’s direction, partnering with classroom teachers to deliver a full‑day early learning program. This role includes supervising students during extended‑day activities and contributing to program design that supports children’s holistic development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement a full‑day early learning curriculum in collaboration with classroom teachers.
• Provide supervision and age‑appropriate programming for groups of students during extended‑day sessions.
• Design learning environments that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.
• Assist children with washroom routines, dressing, toileting, and lunchtime activities.
• Physically support children as needed (lifting, bending, crouching, reaching).
• Follow school policies, maintain confidentiality, and meet documentation deadlines.

Required profile

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
• At least six months of child‑care experience in an educational setting.
• Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators in good standing.
• Knowledge of the Ministry of Education full‑day Kindergarten curriculum.
• Strong communication skills with children, parents, staff, and the public.
• Ability to follow directions, policies, and procedures promptly.
• Excellent organization, time‑management, and deadline‑orientation.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
