Performance Head Coach

About the role

The Performance Head Coach leads the Performance Programming team at a fitness club in St Catharines, delivering high‑quality coaching and fostering a vibrant community. This senior position oversees coach development, program success, and member engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train, evaluate and develop Performance Coaches.
• Ensure the overall success of the Performance Program and adherence to policies set by the Vice President of Group Experience.
• Lead 2‑4 Performance Starter classes each week and maintain a strong on‑site presence.
• Drive member acquisition and retention through walk‑arounds, trials, community outreach, and events.
• Promote the program via social media, newsletters and special events as directed.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and other leaders on class planning, special events, and retention strategies.

Required profile

• Ability to inspire, engage and energize coaches and members.
• Exemplary leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time‑management, planning and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of the health and fitness industry and prior small‑group training experience.
• Proven analytical, problem‑solving and influencing capabilities.
• Mentoring mindset with a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Customer‑service orientation and experience meeting sales goals.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications within the first three months.
