PCBA Troubleshooter

About the role

The PCBA Troubleshooter joins Blackline Safety’s manufacturing floor to ensure product quality and support continuous improvement. Working closely with Operations and Engineering, you will diagnose, repair, and help prevent defects in printed circuit board assemblies used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Make quality decisions for PCBA products based on IPC standards.
• Analyze defective boards, troubleshoot, repair, and feed corrective actions back to SMT or assembly lines.
• Track failure modes, report trends, and suggest preventive improvements.
• Collaborate with Process, Design, and SMT Engineering to address root‑cause yield issues.
• Interpret work instructions, schematics, assembly drawings, and bills of materials accurately.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and cycle‑time reductions.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years experience in electronics manufacturing or repair.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
• Willingness to wear CSA Grade 1 toe‑protection safety footwear.

Required skills

• Excellent soldering skills and familiarity with IPC and JIS acceptability standards.
• Electronics troubleshooting on analog and digital circuits.
• Experience with modern SMT package sizes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• RF testing experience for cellular, GPS, and other bands (asset).
• Lean Manufacturing experience or Six Sigma certification (asset).
