Payroll Manager - Canada

About the role

LVMH HR Shared Services North America is looking for a Payroll Manager to lead and strengthen Canada payroll and tax operations. The role covers eight Canadian operating companies and about 800 employees, strengthening internal controls, driving process standardization and business continuity, and acting as a strategic partner to the brands on payroll, governance, compliance, tax, systems and integration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Canadian payroll operations end to end, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant processing for eight companies with strict data integrity
• Maintain internal controls and governance standards, and advise on changes to Canadian payroll law
• Head Canada-related projects, including system implementations, integrations, audits, acquisitions and brand ventures
• Manage the tax function, including tax amendments, notices, rate changes, annual filings and worker's compensation reports, and oversee ADP Canada tax services
• Manage payroll administration, set priorities and develop the Payroll Administrator through mentoring and cross-training
• Write SOPs, checklists and logs, and drive continuous improvement of payroll and tax processes
• Work with brand HR teams on compliance, reporting, PTO settings, earning and deduction codes and GL files

Required profile

• Over 5-7 years leading payroll teams in a high-volume, complex, multi-province environment, including vendor and audit management
• Experience with a complex workforce: exempt/non-exempt, expatriates, executive pay and incentive programs
• In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field strongly preferred

Required skills

• Certification from the National Payroll Institute (CPM or PCP)
• Advanced knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
• Advanced Excel for financial reporting, data analysis and reconciliations
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
