Part‑time Professor – Mechanical Engineering

About the role

Georgian College is seeking a part‑time professor to join its Mechanical Engineering program in Barrie. The incumbent will design and deliver undergraduate courses, supporting both day and evening schedules, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Mechanical Engineering and Applied Engineering Mechanics courses.
• Create curriculum materials that meet course objectives and incorporate diverse teaching strategies.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Participate in program activities, revision, and renewal initiatives.
• Collaborate with faculty and support college‑wide academic events.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or related field); P.Eng is an asset.
• Minimum five years of recent, relevant professional experience.
• Background in teaching or working with Statics.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and inclusive education.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software, specifically Solidworks.
• Experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
• Understanding of Python programming, AI algorithms, and Machine Learning concepts.
• Familiarity with robotics, environmental sensors, and automation systems.
