Part‑time Elementary Classroom Teacher (0.2 FTE) – Wildflower School

About the role

Wildflower School is seeking a dedicated teacher to join its multi‑age classroom (students ages 7‑11) on a 0.2 FTE term basis. The role focuses on trauma‑informed, community‑centered pedagogy that nurtures the whole child and builds a safe, respectful learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and assess thematic, cross‑curricular learning activities for all domains.
• Plan and deliver inquiry‑based, place‑based learning experiences.
• Coordinate and manage parent and community volunteers.
• Apply restorative justice and compassionate communication strategies with students and families.
• Collaborate with parents to create individualized home‑schooling plans and support their 5.5‑hour weekly role.

Required profile

• Proven ability to teach effectively in a multi‑aged classroom.
• Experience with intermediate (middle‑school) students and thematic planning.
• Understanding of multi‑age learning rationale and Attachment Theory.
• Commitment to collaborative planning, team teaching and community engagement.
