Part-Time Youth Development Coach

About the role

Vancouver Whitecaps FC is seeking motivated Youth Development Coaches to deliver premium soccer training experiences for players of all levels at its Academy Centre in Kelowna. This part‑time, permanent position offers a structured internal coach education pathway and opportunities for advancement within the club’s player development system.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate training sessions aligned with The Whitecaps Way methodology.
• Create a positive, safe, inclusive environment for every player.
• Provide clear instruction, role modelling, and constructive feedback to support player development.
• Assist with session setup, equipment care, and facility oversight.
• Communicate professionally with parents, players, and colleagues regarding attendance, safety, and expectations.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and complete player evaluations as assigned.
• Support special events such as tournaments, showcases, camps, and club experiences.

Required profile

• Experience working with youth in a coaching, teaching, or leadership capacity.
• National coaching certifications (Canada Soccer, USSF, UEFA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a growth‑mindset.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and travel locally as needed.
• Successful completion of required safety and background checks (Criminal Record Check, SafeSport, First Aid).
