Part-time Sessional Lecturer – Community Forests

About the role
The Department of Forest Resources Management at the University of British Columbia is seeking a part‑time (25%) Sessional Lecturer for the 2026 W term (September‑December). You will teach FRST 370 Community Forests and Community Forestry (3 credits), covering global community forest practices with a focus on Indigenous participation, governance, and adaptive learning.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver core lectures for the course.
- Coordinate guest lecturers and manage their schedules.
- Organise and run laboratory sections.
- Prepare, administer and grade tests and mid‑term examinations.
- Hold weekly office hours for student support.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of community forests, Indigenous participation, and forest governance.
- Experience teaching at the university level or equivalent instructional experience.
- Ability to develop and assess academic assessments.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency is preferred.
- Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
