Part-Time Maintenance Worker - Long Term Care

About the role

Sampson & Rouse (S&R Group) is hiring a part-time Maintenance Worker for its long-term care home in Sarnia. The role keeps the home safe, comfortable and running smoothly so residents and staff have a clean, functional environment every day. Key responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the building, including plumbing, heating and cooling systems, electrical repairs, plastering, painting and other assigned tasks
• Prioritize tasks according to the needs of the home
• Moved resident and non-resident furniture safely within the home
• Maintain logs and records of work performed, including materials and equipment used
• Keep tools and equipment in proper working order
• Assist with preventative maintenance using computerized systems to track work and schedules
• Monitor the home for maintenance and safety issues and report concerns
• Support special projects such as carpet cleaning, painting or backup maintenance, and respond to emergency call-ins
• Follow all policies, procedures and legislative standards

Required profile

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of building and fire codes in long-term care
• Availability for emergency call-ins
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) completed within the past 6 months
• TB test step 2 updated within the last year
