Part-time Lecturer – History of Psychology

About the role

Mount Allison University’s Department of Psychology is seeking a part‑time lecturer to teach PSYCH 3901 – History of Psychology during the Fall 2026 semester. The appointment runs from August 2026 with teaching duties from early September to late December.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver three hours of lecture per week (Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00‑11:20 am AT) to approximately 40 students.
• Prepare and present course material covering the development of psychological thought.
• Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and participation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date course resources and adapt delivery for in‑person, hybrid, or fully online formats as needed.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related discipline (completed or in progress).
• Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level, preferably with prior teaching experience.
• Strong communication skills and a solid grasp of the history of psychology.
