Part-Time Laboratory Technician

About the role

Saputo's Dartmouth Milk Plant is hiring a temporary part-time laboratory technician. Reporting to the Supervisor, Quality, the technician ensures product quality by performing raw and finished product testing according to the quality program. The schedule is weekend shift work, with 26 hours per week guaranteed, at $29.25 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor adherence to GMPs in the plant and participate in the HACCP program
• Collect samples of ingredients, raw materials, line and finished products as required
• Follow the Laboratory Quality Program and contribute to its implementation
• Perform ingredient, packaging or product QC holds when needed
• Contribute to proper laboratory cleaning and housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Post-secondary education in a related discipline
• One year of experience in microbiology and quality control
• Ability to work unsupervised

Required skills

• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Attention to accuracy and detail
• Analytical and organizational skills
