Part-Time Host, Biff's Bistro

About the role

Biff's Bistro, a classic French bistro in Toronto offering dishes such as steak tartare, duck confit and steak frites, is looking for a part-time Host. As the first point of contact, the Host sets the tone for the guest experience, manages guest flow and keeps the front of house running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Create a warm, inviting atmosphere in person and over the phone, even during high-volume periods
• Greet and escort guests to their tables with friendly, professional conversation
• Take and manage reservations in person and by phone
• Communicate with Servers, Bartenders and Managers to keep guest flow and seating rotation optimal
• Keep the front entrance, host stand and surrounding areas clean, organized and fully stocked
• Know the floor plan, including table numbers and section layouts, to seat guests efficiently
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Valid Smart Serve certification
• At least 6 months of proven experience in a similar position
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience; restaurant experience is an asset
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
