Part-Time Elementary Math Tutor (Grades 1-8)

About the role

Oxford Learning Richmond Hill – Oak Ridges is seeking a part‑time Elementary Math Tutor to work with students in grades 1‑8. The role is in‑person, covering after‑school evenings on weekdays (3:30 pm‑8:00 pm) and occasional Saturday mornings (10:00 am‑2:00 pm). Candidates should be able to commit through the end of the school year.

Key responsibilities

• Teach up to two or three students simultaneously, adapting to each level.
• Apply Oxford Learning’s teaching methodologies and philosophies.
• Complete post‑lesson notes and daily communication updates for students and parents.
• Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and foster a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• University student or recent graduate; teaching certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of the current elementary math curriculum (grades 1‑8).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to commute to Richmond Hill.
• Willingness to work the specified after‑school and Saturday hours.
• Ability to pass a vulnerable sector screening.

Required skills

• Excellent math knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.
