Part-Time Deli Clerk

About the role

Metro is looking for a friendly and energetic part‑time Deli Clerk to join its Deli and Hot Food department at the Toronto store. You will be the face of the brand, helping customers choose from a wide range of meats, cheeses, and ready‑to‑eat meals while delivering fast, courteous service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, slice, and display deli products according to Metro’s standards.
• Assist customers with product selection, answer questions, and provide recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the deli work area.
• Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and ensure product freshness.
• Handle cash transactions and operate point‑of‑sale equipment when required.
• Work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Previous deli or merchandising experience is an asset.

Required skills

• Basic food safety knowledge.
