About the role
The Music Department seeks a part‑time lecturer to provide studio instruction in brass (trumpet and/or euphonium) for the Fall and Winter semesters of 2026‑2027. This stipendiary appointment offers the chance to work closely with a small group of advanced students in a university setting.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver weekly one‑hour studio lessons to up to four brass students (MUSC 1501–4591).
- Conduct studio class sessions and oversee student performance preparation.
- Assess student performance juries and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain course schedules for both the September‑December and January‑April terms.
Required profile
- Graduate degree in brass performance (preferred).
- Established record as a professional brass performer.
- Experience teaching studio courses at the university level.
Required skills
- Proficiency in trumpet performance.
- Proficiency in euphonium performance.
- Strong brass performance and pedagogical skills.
