Part-Time Bartender (Key Position)

About the role

Maison Selby, a stylish neighbourhood restaurant in Toronto, is looking for a part-time bartender for a key position. The role is full-time in nature with a minimum of 3 shifts per week, and candidates must be available for doubles (lunch/brunch and dinner) within those 3 days. The pay is $17.60-$18.50 plus gratuities.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and offer proactive assistance, with strong situational awareness
• Recommend menu items confidently and share engaging knowledge of cocktails, wine and beer
• Maintain guest tabs, place orders and prepare guests before food service with accuracy and organization
• Go above and beyond for special requests and celebrations, and take food preferences and allergies seriously
• Monitor and maintain beer keg and liquor levels, run inventory and help managers order stock
• Work as part of a team, move efficiently through the restaurant and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of proven bartending experience
• Valid SmartServe certification (required)
• Knowledge of wine, beer and cocktails; WSET preferred but not required
• Ability to multi-task, communicate orally and in writing, and stand for long periods
• Able to lift and move beer kegs, liquor and wine boxes
• Available weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
