Operations Supervisor – Student Transportation

About the role

The Operations Supervisor will oversee daily student transportation operations across the GTA, reporting to the Operations Manager. This role coordinates logistics between the Schools division and support teams while ensuring safety and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct staff activities and ensure drivers meet contract standards.
• Monitor performance through site visits, incident reports, and annual reviews.
• Coordinate training with Health & Safety and manage on‑call emergencies, including holidays and weekends.
• Maintain work schedules, coverage, and payroll accuracy.
• Serve as primary contact for maintenance, HR, and safety teams.
• Cover school runs when needed and oversee monthly ghosting and deficiency reports.
• Assist with driver onboarding, orientation, and license upgrades.

Required profile

• Safety‑focused with a clean driving record.
• Valid "B" licence (preferred) and ability to pass criminal/vulnerable sector checks.
• Strong knowledge of York Region and surrounding areas.
• Independent worker with solid communication skills.
• Post‑secondary education or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar operations role.
• Excellent customer service background; student transportation experience is a plus.
