Operations Manager – Robotics

About the role

This Operations Manager role sits within ABB's Robotics business, which is preparing for acquisition by SoftBank Group. The position covers the full scope of operations for a local unit, including project management and control, engineering, production, order administration, procurement, quality, continuous improvement and logistics. It reports to the ABB Robotics Canada leadership and works in a hybrid model.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a customer-focused operations strategy aligned with the business and functional strategy of the local unit.
• Own and deliver operations KPIs covering safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity.
• Manage integrated project management and ensure projects are delivered on time and on margin.
• Champion a culture of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement, and monitor Net Promoter Score results to improve customer satisfaction.
• Lead and maintain the site's ISO 9001:2015 audit and certified Quality Management System.
• Ensure compliance with local and global standards and policies, and drive cost-saving initiatives with supply chain management.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales and Applications to protect profitability, and assess risks and safety hazards.
• Keep operations functions organized, staffed and directed, and build a high-performing organization.

Required profile

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in end-to-end operations management, project management and quality assurance and excellence.
• Proven experience in budget and performance management, strategy implementation and data analysis and reporting.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction and experience with engineering and manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• Inventory management and control, logistics and supplier relationship management.
• Resource management, capacity planning, governance and fostering collaboration.

The stated annual salary range is $128,850 to $171,800, depending on qualifications and experience.
