Operations Leadership Trainee – New Graduate Program

About the role

Combined Metal Industries is seeking recent graduates to join its Operations Leadership Trainee program in Cambridge. This full‑time, on‑site role offers hands‑on experience across safety, production, people leadership and continuous improvement within a fast‑growing scrap metal recycling company.

Key responsibilities

• Shadow and support Operations Leaders to understand site‑specific workflows and challenges.
• Own projects aimed at optimizing productivity and reducing waste.
• Develop leadership skills by managing people and teams in real‑time.
• Collaborate with Fleet & Logistics, Maintenance, Sales and Business Process Improvement departments.

Required profile

• A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field.
• Passion for leadership and ambition to grow into a management role.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and quick thinking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work on the plant floor and learn the business from the ground up.
