Welder‑Fitter – Permanent Full‑Time Position

About the role

We are seeking an experienced welder‑fitter to join BWXT Canada Ltd in Cambridge, Ontario. The position involves interpreting welding process specifications, operating a range of welding and cutting equipment, and ensuring that all welds meet required standards for stainless steel, steel and heavy‑metal components.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret welding process specifications and read blueprints, drawings and manuals.
• Operate manual, semi‑automatic and fully automated welding equipment.
• Perform shielded metal arc (SMAW), gas tungsten arc (GTAW/TIG) and gas metal arc (GMAW) welding.
• Operate flame‑cutting, oxygen‑arc cutting (AOC) and hoisting/lifting equipment.
• Fit, braze and torch‑straighten metal parts, and fabricate or repair pressure‑vessel components.
• Examine welds for quality and compliance, and conduct minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of welding/fabrication experience in an industrial setting.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and handle repetitive, physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
• Client‑focused, punctual, organized team player.
