Operating Room Patient Care Attendant

About the role

We are seeking an Operating Room Patient Care Attendant to join our team at Lacroix Medical Clinics in Quebec City. The role involves supporting medical and nursing staff in delivering safe, high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room according to scheduled procedures.
• Ensure safe positioning, mobilization and accompaniment of patients before, during and after surgery.
• Assist medical and nursing personnel as needed during cases.
• Clean and set up the operating room between cases, adhering to hygiene and sterilisation protocols.
• Manage and replenish medical equipment and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Report deviations and contribute to quality and safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a patient care attendant in an operating room.
• Strong knowledge of hygiene, asepsis and sterilisation standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, with rigor and a service-oriented attitude.
• Good physical condition to handle dynamic surgical environments.
• Autonomy, responsibility and resourcefulness.

Required skills

• DEP/PDSB certification.
• DEP in Personal Assistance in Institutions and at Home (APED) certification.
