Operating Room Nurse – Orthopedic Surgery

About the role

Lacroix Private Medicine is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join its Laval surgical team. The position supports a variety of procedures, with a focus on orthopedic surgeries such as total hip and knee replacements, while offering a stable daytime schedule that promotes work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in orthopedic (THR, TKR) and other surgeries including gynecology, ENT, urology, general, bariatric, and neurosurgery.
• Maintain strict aseptic protocols and adhere to AIISOC, CSA, and PCI standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure patient safety.
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
• Document intra‑operative events accurately and comply with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Completed nursing training (DEC or Bachelor of Science in Nursing) with a valid OIIQ license.
• Minimum 3 years of operating‑room experience, including THR/TKR procedures.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Fluent French and functional English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of anatomy and surgical techniques.
• Mastery of AIISOC, CSA, and PCI standards.
• Proficiency in aseptic protocols.
• Ability to work rigorously, vigilantly, and with attention to detail.
